As a long time fan of the series, I started on Diablo just before Diablo 2 launched, got the expansion pack and loved it ever since. Sadly the newer titles don't hold the same interest, 3 was such a letdown after such a wait, and 4 clung too much to 3's battle system and crappy power scaling. I still get such a sense of anticipation and some excitement for every new season drop to start over fresh again on the updated graphics and I also really enjoyed the few runewords, terrorized zones for better end game leveling, and sunder charms to make new builds viable in the late game. My only complaint about the game as it is now, is that the devs dropped D2R to focus on Diablo 4 and didn't follow through with adding the rest of the runewords and changes. This game still has so much potential, after bringing in the remaster they could easily add in a new class, or a whole new act like they did with LOD, even if it would be stuck behind a pay wall, many of us would gladly take the plunge for a masterpiece, unlike it's knock off predecessors. One other note to mention is a lot of the community voices how they could even work with the group behind Project Diablo 2, which as I've researched adds a lot of QOL features like loot filters and gem and rune stacking. As a long term player of the original and my most played game over the past few years, this game is still a gem for those that don't mind a grind and constantly looking for that next piece of loot. Grab a few friends and enjoy the adventure together.
