Okay I just had to write a review on this because I don’t understand how so many people adored this movie. Reminder that this was rated PG..
As an adult of a particular mindset and theology, I thought the movie was creative.. to an extent. I couldn’t help but think and contemplate what kids would learn from this and if it would be something I would want my (theoretical) child watching...
The creators tried tackling a very hard topic with this one but how much should we add to a kid’s imagination?! As an adult, I can watch this and soak in the information as hypotheticals but children can take things as fact. Talking about heaven and hell and an in between.. What?!
I’m surprised that much of America seems to be ok with others teaching our children particular values and norms that generally would have been taught by the family/parents. Then they wonder why our kids are growing up the way they are. We’re basically letting corporations.. the media.. whoever.. raise our children.
Before you let your kid watch this.. really think about what kind of impressions you want to leave on your child.. you might think it’s cute but If it doesn’t align with your values and morals then communicate that or don’t let them watch it.
