NO SPOILERS. A horror movie fan here, not the ‘scream’ kind but the ‘conjuring’ ‘insidious’ ‘exorcism of Emily rose’ kind and i did enjoy this movie. I saw a few bad reviews, and no hate, but most of the bad reviews are from those who have loads of questions. It’s all quite solvable imo and everything makes sense. Symbolism etc Anyways, the bad reviews come from the main fact that the movie isn’t horror or scary. But best believe in a world where black magic is a real thing - it is scary. The movie does good story telling, yes it has flaws but in 2025 where movies have been sucking in pace and story telling, I’m content. The scare factor comes from the essence of making the viewer feel trapped, helpless and controlled. The movie introduces at least a new concept to horror - i.e not a female spirit dressed in white, no exorcism, no prayers, no unnecessary cheap jump scares, no demon or devil. I would say Skeleton key, Hereditary are some horrors that drifted from the norm horror trope. And so did weapons. Now hear me out, i almost hate any horror movie or any movie rather - with kids. Kids make movies annoying imo because the writers make them rowdy and over confident. But in this movie, the kids were not annoying at all. The movie introduces new shock factor through Natural means, it makes you uncomfortable. It plays on darkness (literally talking about contrast and lighting), plays on feeling watched / chased / on edge. Which is always good in movies because it puts you in the characters shoes. When i say ‘natural’ however, i mean less CGI, more good acting and makeup and scare factor on the human face (not spoiling, you’ll know what i mean). Is the movie the greatest of all time? No. Is the movie good? Yes. Am i happy to see something interesting after such a long while between 2024-2025? Yes, the movie industry in story telling is deteriorating, this at least got me interested, the same way i used to get interested in movies from 1990-2014. What i didn’t like about the movie? The comedy. I think I’ve seen in recent years a lot of comedy in horror and i always feel the director thinks the viewers are all babies who need their stress hormones mollycoddled. Not me, let me be stressed in the movie, i don’t need to laugh. I don’t need comedic relief, i don’t need my stress levels protected in a movie. I find the new comedy horror quite wimpy but that’s just my opinion. Hence why Hereditary and exorcism of Emily rose was just chefs kiss, the fear instilled in you is REAL. For people with bad reviews, you know that whole thing where people are complaining about how scroll culture is getting people to be impatient and always looking for shock factor so they can’t pay attention and constantly need that dopamine - yea that YOU, but with horror movies. You got too used to cheap scares, animated ghosts and loud sounds with fast pacing - you can’t tell what’s a good movie anymore. Sorry, not sorry.

Absolutely LOVED this movie. My family came out saying we’ve not seen a good horror film ever since insidious, conjuring were all released in the first years. I cannot believe anyone would be disappointed with the movie and sad to see some fans didn’t like it, I have paid avid attention to part 1 and 2 of insidious and knew every reference of this last part. I’m not going to make any spoilers, but my advice is watch part 1 and part 2. I thought I’d be disappointed because sequels always tend to fail. This one didn’t. I loved the jump scares, I loved Daltons personality and how it’s changed and for good reason. I love how old characters are featured. It’s very reminiscent and brings back memories. I watched this movie as a teen, now I am well into my adult years and can’t express my appreciation for this last movie as I grew up with it. I can’t tell there is going to be plenty copy cats after this and lots of other movies taking ideas from this new movie. To appreciate it, you need to know part 1 and 2 throughly, i feel whoever is disappointed, probably didn’t understand it. Watch the movie, admire the creativity, reminisce how this was release 10 years ago, and appreciate how non-cheap the scare factor was in here. 5 stars deserved. And 5 stars that it didn’t end in a rap song.

This show is actually pretty amazing. Good plot, good character development, excellent acting. It’s so simple and didn’t use cheap ways to gain attention.
