There are no words that could be put in the same sequence to imagine my full appreciation and bewilderment of this masterpiece. Within the first 60 seconds of the film, I was mesmerized by the beauty of the visual effects. As the film progressed with the tragic backstory of Doug the pastor, I quickly fell deeper into the plot and was fully immersed in the heartbreak and devastation Doug was feeling as the actor did an immaculate job selling the character. I cannot express the beauty and emotion I felt throughout the film. The moment Doug lost his parents I immediately thought of my great great great great grandfather and grandmother who tragically lost their lives in a brutal car accident. I won’t go on to spoil the rest of the plot, but I will say this: not one Marvel movie, nor anime, no, not even a single film from the Shrek franchise could top this movie. The prostitute in this film was so well played that she reminded me of my late ex-wife Karen who was tragically murdered at a McDonald’s by jumping over the counter to see the manager and fell into fry grease. I’ve never been to war before, but when Doug’s mentor priest had flashbacks, it felt like I was a veteran of the battlefield. I an atheist, now see that there is a true god and that god is the velocipastor. I don’t care who you are, get your spouse, your children, your grandparents, and all the people you wish to see succeed in this life to watch this movie. 6/5 stars if I could
