Would have been better as a miniseries frankly. Trying to go through all the twists and turns involving both plot and characters it just feels rushed and highly unlikely. The plot element of a serial rapist running wild in a sleepy New England college town (looks like Northampton Mass) is at least tangential, at worst extremely unnecessary. All the actors deliver good performances, but Kidman seems a bit forced, and Bebe Nuewirth is somewhat comical. Anne Bancroft is great in a small role. Blink and you’ll miss George C Scott in more or less a cameo. C- , 2.5 Stars.

Better than the number that rotten tomatoes currently has listed. Being a devoted X-Files fan. It was good to see Mulder and Scully back together again.

The writing is beyond compare almost Shakespearean. Just like the show the characters are rich well developed and fascinating. Great fun revisiting the show after so many years in this movie does that show justice

Holy mackerel, what a bloated Overwrought-waste of time. Eli Wallach as fun, chewing the scenery, Al Pacino is really compelling as is Diane Keaton‘s delayed performance. Any Garcia performance just seems out of place and overacted. I hate to say it, but Sofia Coppola performance is so bad like high school drama class bad no matter what face she tries to make it looks like she’s smelling a fart and to have her such a central character mother of God Francis what were you thinking? is that
