What words can you use to describe a story so absolutely mesmerizing? I can't find them. I only know that I didn't just read it- I was there with them! I am also still so mad at Reuben for not being able to keep a secret. Even Davy could have used a few necessary lies for his own good. Swede is such an amazing poet. Her poems were like a story in a story and perfectly rhymed. I'm late to the party- just acquired my dad's Reader's Digest from 2001 and more. But I plan to catch up. Thank you Mr. Enger, I will be looking for more of your engaging works.

Dear Lord! I read this amazing, heartbreaking, insightful, informative piece of history from this man's heart and I am still thinking about it months later. Neal, you did a great job sharing your life's journeys with the world. I was so invested in everyone's lives, I wanted to somehow save them from all the bad choices and unfortunate circumstances. Sorry you had to live it. But you are a great writer, so there's that. Much luck 🍀 ahead.
