I didn’t get the show the first time through, but I could see the intelligence behind it. After a second viewing, when I understood more of the references, I became extremely impressed. … And then… It wormed its way into my brain and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Now I’m completely obsessed. It’s totally unique into itself and these writer/ producers are very, very clever. The entire cast is top notch, but Jacob Tierney destroys me at every moment! Now I wish there were more than six episodes per season. Hurry up, season 12. Pitter patter. Let’s get at ‘er.

Locke & Key pleasantly surprised me. I expected it to be a mildly amusing CW type fantasy on par with Vamp Diaries & et al. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that) It surpassed those expectations on every level. The writing is quite good and the cast is excellent. The mystery is weird. Kind of like if Narnia and Criminal Minds Had a baby. I sometimes don’t follow or quite know what is actually happening, what is a flashback, and what is the result of a Key House experience, but I don’t really care. I figure it will all sort itself out in the end, and in the meantime I am totally on board.
