When the first scene starts (FINALLY after 30 minutes of previews), you think you are in for a great ride. Then it all falls apart quickly. It's gross just to be gross. While watching you are either confused, disgusted, or bored to death. I almost fell asleep three times. I kept looking at my phone to check the time. The POV changes so much you get whiplash and lacks continuity. There are nasty scenes that were unnecessary and will be forever etched in my head. This film was basically a long drawn out necrophilia porno. One character literally starts to have sex with his dead wife, who is in her coffin in their family crypt, as he's dying from the plague. I'm pretty certain they infer that the main character, Ellen, somehow had sex with nasferatu as a pre-teen or teen? It was all convoluted and poorly conveyed. Also, anytime Nasferatu "feeds" on someone, he is also either humping or having sex with them. The motion of the bodies heavily implies sex. The final scene was so pronographic and filled with gross necrophilia and gore that when the filmed ended our entire theater just sat there in silence and disbelief. When people did start talking it was about how awful all of it was and how disgusting, especially the end scene. I personally looked away during most of the final sex scene and found the final shot of the movie to be horrific and in bad taste. How people filmed this movie without vomiting is beyond me. I rarely get a night out with my husband to go see a movie and I am 100% sorry I wasted it on this one. Sonic 3 was better than this gross-out porno.
