I loved this show so much even though I began watching it with some trepidation, given the timing and what is happening in the world with rising antisemitisms, couched as anti-Zionism. Though I am not Jewish (in fact I was born into a secular Moslem family), I am always on alert to stereotypes, which can offer veer into caricatures. I did see some exaggeration, especially of the two mothers. However, the tenderness and humor with which conflict was resolved, the genuine love that grew between the two main characters and the bond and loyalty of the sisters was so heartwarming I could forgive the hyperbole.
I look forward to season 2 where some of these nuances can be addressed and move forward with hope for all of us looking for it in our world.
