I love your tv show. I was watching your episode of the Mothman and realized that’s very similar to what I saw on I-75 near Corbin, KY. This is the first I’ve ever written about this to anyone. I’ve traveled a lot in the last 20 years and I’ve seen a California Condor in Utah. That was the largest bird I’ve ever seen... until Corbin.
My brother and I were returning to CIncinnati from Florida. We spent the night in Knoxville, TN. We left at 6:30 AM heading north. When we got near Corbin the fog was like a floating blanket that stopped at the top of the street lights.
When we approached Corbin we were heading down a grade. I was looking over at the oncoming traffic wishing I could take a picture but it was still too dark. All of a sudden this huge bird with human features came out of the fog. I was Looking directly at it when it came out. It immediately spread it’s wings and gave it full flaps like it was surprised to be so close to the ground. The wings were as wide as the median there and was impressive. It made two moves... it flapped down once and then back once. It was very quick. I thought the wings had to be at least 16 feet wide since a Condor is 10 feet wide and I thought this was another half bigger. I thought to myself that I must be wrong about the size until on our next trip that way I realized the median is only that wide there.
My brother who was driving only saw blur.
Weird but true. I was excited to see this thing.
