This prequel is very satisfying for fans of the franchise. Big on action but with enough original plot concepts and great characters that you care about.

This movie was wonderful! Think of a Mexicana E.T. This is well done and the cinematography is top notch. A feature for the whole family

Having grown up during the young Brooke’s era I could relate to all those events because she was everywhere. The adult Brooke narrative was very insightful to what was happening to her and what she learned to accept during those times, and a thoughtful personal retrospective flashed forward on what young girls have to deal with these days.

I’m a huge fan of the Tolkien books reading LOTR trilogy 3-4 times, the last time along with “A Tolkien Bestiary” by David Day, and of course the Peter Jackson movies. I watched Ep1&2 last night and so far this series does not disappoint. The casting is great. Even the actress who plays young Galadriel is right out Tolkiens mind: Her name is Morfydd Clark. I loved the thought that went into the prequel plot and the production is visually stunning, not quite up to Peter Jackson standards but very pleasing.
