NON-SPOILER REVIEW
As a huge Margot Robbie fan, I was actually thrilled when the movie was released. Here’s my story.
Prior to the movie, I had been keeping up very closely with all the promo for the movie, the posts posted by @barbiethemovie on Instagram, watching basically every interview released before the actual release date of the movie.
On July 19, one day before Barbie’s release date, I was screaming my head off buying tickets. Mind you I cried like two tears when I thought I wasn’t getting any tickets as I was dying to watch Barbie.
On July 20th, Barbie was released. On my way there and I felt I was going to be late. I cried. When I reached the mall, I ran up the escalators and ran into the theatre, frantic to see Barbie. For the first 30 minutes I saw, I was shaking.
My show started at 6:45 pm and I reached there around 7:05. The show ends at 8:45. While watching the show, I checked the time at 8:29 and already knew the ending was horrid. I was shocked and disappointed at the ending as to how it was relevant to the movie and to Barbie.
I know that this review gave a whole lot of nothing. That’s because there are not spoilers. The point is, if an avid Margot Robbie fan, Barbie movie supporter, who constantly reposted the promotion for the movie felt disappointed by it, I think you will too.
THE FOLLOWING MAY OR MAY NOT BE A SPOILER
This was such a sexist movie.
