I’ve been a huge STP fan since their 1st album when I was in jr.high school and Robert’s unique style of music has been a bid part of my life. I love Talk Show and Army of Anyone as well as STP. He wrote the guitar and bass on most of the most beloved hits for STP. Their latest, Perdida is up there with their classics. I was fortunate to me him and the original lineup of STP on the Shangri La De Da tour and him and Dean were super cool. This album has Jimmy Gnecco (big fan) of the band Ours on 2 songs, which is a huge bonus. This album has a really 70’s AM radio California soft rock/country vibe, which is great, especially for someone who was born in ‘77, which gives me nostalgic feelings from when I was a toddler with the radio playing as I slept. I have to find this on vinyl, still…but I really wish it came out on CD…because I have a CD collection of over 3,000, and I’m a collector type. I like to actually own my music when possible. I also need to get Dean’s solo project “Trip The Witch”, which is really interesting l, too. Anyway, this is a great breakup/divorce album as he was going through that in his life at the time. His lyrics are very open and honest with cleaver writing choices without being too sappy. Robert is a true musician’s musician with a lot to say and guitar/bass chops to boot. He is also a good singer as you know if you watch him singing harmonies with STP live. He one of my personal favorites. Give it a go, it’s good stuff.
