Efron's character is a bouquet of red flags. Hello, boundary violations! He did a fine job of it. Kidman's character ignores all the red flags. King's character also has some major boundary violations, so I guess Kidman's character is a doormat. The movie made me cringe multiple times.
Not sure why Kidman is doing ads for the movie, saying it's a rom-com, because I don't think I laughed more than one small chuckle. The movie had me putting my face in my hand more times than I can count, and I might need therapy after watching it to make sure my boundaries made it through that insanity.
Why am I not giving it one star?
