I thought this was going to be a sci-fi show, so I was disappointed when it went into boring, overdone territory, and lingered (dragged). Was bored and/or cringing for the entire middle bit. The initial premise of dream cameo was good. Perhaps if the film focused on just that and the concept in the last 10 minutes, it would have been something. Shame, because I liked how it was shot. I found Cage's makeup distracting. Wouldn't recommend.

Well that was terrifying. No cheap scares/jump scenes-- actual fear induced by script/acting/direction.

I am left reminded of Edward Scissorhands. It's not a Burtonesque film aesthetically, but more so narratively. The blend of horror elements with mystic in addition to the emotional charge made it unique.

Beyond charmingly poignant. (Wish they would have included Chris Cornell's song though, seeing as the film's title/inspiration is from that.)

Truly awful. Don't fall for the Google reviews that say Rotten Tomatoes got it wrong, they didn't. It's boring, the actors are wooden, and a much better film came out in 2010 (based on an earlier book) that did a much better job at the psychology of grief. (Intentionally vague as I don't want to spoil anything for the masochists who will still watch this dumpster fire.)

I don't see the allure. I've heard this story before (no pun intended), and I didn't feel this film brought anything new to the table. The acting was mediocre and the plot was obvious 5 minutes in, which would be fine if the journey was interesting-- but it wasn't. Just flat. It took me almost 20 years to watch this movie, and I feel I missed nothing.

The kids' dialogue is so awkward, I'm unsure who the intended audience is supposed to be. Was just bored and annoyed for 90 minutes.

This was terrible. It dragged endlessly in the beginning, then turned into pure boring exposition; frankly, it's evidence of bad screen writing. *SHOW DON'T TELL* The acting wasn't great, felt either overdone or weak. The mood/tone wasn't in any way creepy. The setting was the only redeeming feature for me. I haven't heard the podcast, but I suspect it's much better than this. There is potential for something good here, but this iteration wasn't it.

I just want to know why they are wearing hats, scarves, and fur coats in @$#!ing August, in Boston?! I looked up average temps, and it says 28°C. If they wanted the rain and autumn look, set it in the PNW, ffs! Also, this felt like an ad for converse.

Meh. I didn't need three full hymns an episode either.
