Life’s a rollercoaster ride. It might make us feel like we are on top of the world and the very next minute let us down. The story is so beautifully simple and refreshing that one doesn’t realise how complex theme it just dealt with until the movie’s over. No love triangles, no toxic relationship between the main couple, no surprising twist, no sci-fi time travel story for which you have to rack your brains. Just a reminder to relish our daily life amidst whatever we are going through because time stops for none. I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

The most important thing to know about this movie is that it is NOT A TYPICAL HORROR/THRILLER as Google is showing. The story preview or trailer completely misguides about the movie plot. That’s done for the secret twist. It’s more like the movie “Get Out” but lacks good storytelling. That’s why a lot of people are already bored before they can understand what this movie is about. That’s the reason for such mixed reviews. Half of them were expecting a typical horror movie night with their friends or family and then the movie turns out to be something else. I am one of those people. SPOILER ALERT! The movie is basically based on the Antebellum slavery. The concept is good but the problem lies with the storytelling. That’s why the movie doesn’t get the justice it deserves. In the first half, the audience think that it’s all a dream then they give the major twist and finish the story within a few minutes. The main character was struggling for days maybe even months and then one night she just escaped with the help of ONLY ONE friend. I feel it could have been portrayed better. If the ending was more intelligent, represented a united revolution then I think no one would have been this disappointed. This is why I had to rate it so low.

Malignant reminded me of another movie produced by James Wan called “Lights Out”. Having watched that I kind of figured out very early on what was going to happen. A little different story but the horror scenes in the beginning felt similar. Personally, I would prefer “Lights Out” more than “Malignant” but doesn’t mean this one is bad. We all know the magic touch that James Wan has on these horror movies. It's definitely worth a watch.

This movie is based on the detective fiction book series written by Agatha Christie. I have read a few of her Hercule Poirot novels but not this one. Having watched the “Murder on the Orient Express”, I can confirm that this movie is definitely better. Filled with a star-studded cast and beautiful locations, this 2hr 7 min movie was one hell of a mystery ride. If you like a good classic detective story, then this one is definitely for you. Even if this is a sequel of the “Murder on the Orient Express”, it’s not necessary to watch that one before this. Kenneth Branagh was brilliant as always.

Writing this post from the beyond. Yep, this movie was the death of me. One boring evening, I decided to watch this movie out of curiosity. I read the reviews and thanks to those who warned me but I decided to watch it anyways and then choose sides. The story seemed interesting in the beginning but my last brain cells decided to kill themselves before the movie ended. Filled with boring, confusing and unwanted twists, it is better if you spend your time doing anything but watching this. I was thoroughly disappointed.
