The book is an excellent chronicle of Deccan History and its glory. It is beautifully written. The merchant guilds and how the trade community flourished could have been dealt with in more depth. The book largely focused on Wars and temple monuments which were the primary focus of the Deccan kings. The Chola's administration and efficiency with which they ran their empire were not covered much. It probably needs another book.
