Made me cry physically for the first two times I tried to read it, I couldn't bring myself to finish the first section and I was honestly considering just leaving it to lie in the dust. Technically it was my first book about a real trans experience and that had such a huge profound affect on my brain. The book itself is brilliant, if I hadn't stomached my fears and didn't finish it I don't think I'd ever forgive myself! It helped me figure out my emotions and who I was by unscrambling the messy scrambled eggs of my emotions. It's really insightful for young trans people and doesn't try and sugercoat the hectic chaos and distress that comes with discovering who you are with people who don't get the whole bigger trans picture. Definite must read for young people who are struggling with their gender identity and dysphoria. The art too is an absolute win, I read a lot of articles and books about being trans after this but they came a lot more from a factual point and drilled it in that this was a deathly serious topic, whereas the comic-like appearance of Welcome to St Hell is such a huge appealing feature of the comic that works for both older trans people and younger trans people. 10000/10 because trans kids and adults matter like Hell 💪
