For a football lover there's only one word I'd use to describe this, "slow", with all the flashbacks, internal monologues. The mc is pathetic and weak. I don't see any redeeming qualities about him that might make him the best among the rest. In the whole plot about one player winning the world cup isn't believable. Gareth bale is a classic example and this year, you can watch out for halland who is a prime example of a good player who unfortunately cant carry his team to the world cup finals
