Look I get the discourse on the decision Joy Murray chose at the end but still this is one of the best movies not just of the year but my whole life. I went into this movie Blind not knowing anything about it and I left in tears, since then I've watched the prequel hello love goodbye a few times and the sequel again Being half Filipino these two films particularly this one really resonated with me because you see our culture represented in a well curated crafted movie on the big screen. The movie picks up 5 years later but also has flashbacks to 2019 and 2020 and 2021 with their relationship at its highest moments the saddest and the darkest times The Cinematic score in soundtrack power up the feelings of emotions in the movie although they can be a little bit repetitive and the storyline could be a little bit cliche it's still a nice refreshing twist. The Chemistry Between the two main Leeds is astonishing as they seem like they grew from the first installment not to mention the comedic take from the side characters I still felt the characters relatable and grounded to reality it does highlight their maturity over the years that they've been together and also been apart people complaining about the green screen and the lighting maybe that was a artistic choice but I did notice that a few viewings after the first one Keep in mind this is the first Filipino movie I see in theaters so I never grew up with the actors when I was younger but still coming from a western audience from Hollywood I thought this was great film spoilers: below.. I understand a lot of people did not like Joy's decision at the end, but love requires sacrifice doesn't it? I get it you're supposed to put your future your career independency optimism first but at the end of the day we're humans and feelings get the better of us I'm not saying what she did was the right thing to do all I'm saying is she followed her heart and besides the older lady that she was taking care of was saying John is where home is Ethan clearly was in the darkest time of his life and that is no excuse the long-distance relationship puts a strain on them that some of us can't even understand I'm not on his side either but it just sucks that his decision had to be that one
