I think this was a well made movie that didn’t have to be made. If you want to see a great Salems Lot movie, watch the 1970s miniseries. It’s amazing, really takes the time to build a story without rushing. So good.

To the creators of this show: Keep it real! Please stop having these kids flip in a bus over a cliff without a scratch, dangling from fire escape ladders, falling through ceilings. It’s not Outer Banks! You don’t need that stuff.,the music storylines are enough. I almost turned it off after that bus tumble over cliff.

So I’m an official movie guy and I can’t stand watching TV anymore. I recently told my wife to just cancel all the channels. But along comes STICK. It has renewed my faith in TV shows again. Who doesn’t love the washed up athlete with one last shot at redemption. Love the golf shots, love the characters, the acting and it pulls at the heart strings. I’m recommending it to everybody. It’s a joy to watch. I’m hoping by the end of season two, Owen Wilson is battling his young protege at the US open.

Some of my favorite movies are high school sports movies. Vision Quest, Remember the Titans and Hoosiers. The director of Touchback seemed to be wanting to re-create the magic of the latter movie. And he came so close. Beautiful settings, cornfields, factories, beautiful photography and music. It put you right in the mood. Although it was no Hoosiers, I really, really like this movie. Its messages and themes are life-changing and making such a classic as Hoosiers is almost impossible to duplicate. Watch “ The game of their lives” by the Hoosiers director and you’ll understand.I loved Touchback, loved what he tried to do and what he ended up doing.Great watch.
