Well they did manage to get every possible melodramatic over the top military cliche into it. It's got that going for it.

Stylistically I loved it in the beginning. But after 3 episodes the character Eve really started to grate on me. I guess it's part of the premise but her stupidity, petulance, and constant scrunched up forehead bungling wore me down. I really liked the assassin character, which was beautifully acted but there were constant chances by most of her victims to take her out and they all just sat there while she monologued and then killed them. It was less that she was a skilled assassin and more that her victims were unrealistically passive and/or paniced. Even the MI5 agent! None of them could have put the slightest effort into fighting to save their own lives?

The pacing was way too slow and ponderous. I lost track of characters because they dissapeared for so long. About 2/3 of the way I lost interest and never finished it.

I wanted to like this movie alot. It's my kind of genre. But I just felt it didnt quite cut it. First the pacing was really, really, really slow for the first 2/3rds. Then it felt like the director said "we gotta wrap this up". I think Eisenberg is an excellent actor but he played the character as almost autistic. Basically it's a similar character to what he portrayed in Zombieland but not believable this time. Also, I get the theme of "toxic masculinity" I guess but I never quite figured out who the karate teacher was or how they went from fight club to random assaults. Having said that though Nivola did a really great sinister job as "sensei". Best part of the movie. Anyway, it was ok. I just dont think its worthy of cult status like movies like Fight Club.
