Behold zootopia-style anthropomorphised animals and listen to a random Spotify playlist in a story with little to no depth, full of clichés and predictable events too convenient for the plot. No excitement, rarely any comedy, and embarrassingly weak story. The only upside is the animations. Oh! and the only singer that was actually, Seth MacFarlane, does not appear in this one. What an absolute shame.
Most of the soundtrack is made of covers and original tracks of famous songs, not necessarily relevant to the scenes. The story takes a lot of vague illogical turns and twists while showing you some montages with "empowering" music in the background. In the end, the moral of the story seems to be that if you're ridiculously optimistic, you can do every difficult thing in less than two days: write and rehearse a huge musical show, learn to dance and act better than anyone could imagine, overcome your fear of hight etc. Sure! Why not?! What a foolish unrealistic lesson to teach our kids. Yaaay.
I usually don't nitpick movies, but the clichés in this one were just too many and too obvious. I loved the previous movie, but this is arguably unnecessary and disappointing. Wasted my time...
