Lives are upended by a varying degree that follows economic status. Antisemitism spreads with the occupation, until some French citizens sound much like the nazis themselves. This series is entertaining and enthralling for history buffs. The rich become friendly with the nazis, the poor are more likely to suffer under their social restrictions and food rationing. Jewish people lose their jobs and businesses. Special feature videos share interviews with the French citizens who would have been children during the WWII occupation, and describe conditions reflected in the series.
