I endured the first episode, and 10 minutes into the second, decided not to waste any more time. The production values are great and the casting is good, but the writing is awful. The final straw was when the adage, "if you see something, say something" was uttered. And I hightly doubt words like "intel" and "p.r." were bandied about in 1865.

It was a staple in my home. When my son grew up & moved out---he's an excellent cook---I asked him if there was anything from the (now downsized) house he'd like. He asked for this book!
