Good: They nailed the atmosphere of the game, voice acting is brilliant, music is fine, weapons upgrade is an okay system.
Bad:
- Forgot how much of a drag the first part of FF7 story was. I wished it would not exist completely and the game started outside Midgar.
- Those sneaky loading are everywhere and when it's happening Cloud walks. It's frustrating, annoying, I prefer loading screens.
- Every battle is a chore. There was never a moment you felt you're getting more powerful. Every boss battle is easily a 15min+ long battle.
- Many useless puzzle sections that are just annoying to deal with. The original had some too, I hoped they wouldn't make a comeback.
- Similar summoning system to FF15, which makes me sad. I wanna see the summons, I wanna summon against weak enemies too. When I played FF15 I saw one summon the entire game. In FF7 remake you'll have the chance to see it a little more often, but still not nearly enough.
- I wanted to throw the controller at the tv when Cloud was slowly crawling through the vents.
- Too much story, too much watching something happening.
Overall, not expecting anything great from the rest of the game. I wished it was something like the original battle system instead. Ruby weapon and this battle system will make you cry.
