I had "enough" to drink when I watched this and I still hated it. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because it seemed like Skarsgard was doing his absolute damnedest (no pun) to make this character work, but it was a losing battle from the start. The splinter under my nail through this entire movie (other than the horrible pacing and the "meh" supporting cast) was the absolute tone-deaf soundtrack. It's like they hired a highschool freshman art student, gave them a handfull of MDMA, and told them to scroll through Spotify. This movie smacks of the Robert Pattinson "Batman" where you think you're going to get a cool new take on a classic character, but you end up getting a moody emo shell of the character who constantly gets their ass handed to them until the last third of the film. All I can say is - don't pay for this movie to watch it. Just catch it in passing or skip it entirely. It's not worth the work to seek it out.

I can't believe I actually watched this whole movie. It's like Stigma, Dogma, Snatch, and every Wes Anderson movie vomited all over my TV... And as long as I've been watching films, I've never been so aware and distracted by the sound design... But at least it was in focus, I guess...

I watched this last night, and I swear I'm not kidding - I woke up this morning, I couldn't remember a single thing about it.

This show asks questions I never thought I'd need answers to, like - What would it be like if Birdemic, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Rapsittie Street Kids had a baby...while being anachronistically scored by an insta-thot on quaaludes. Now I know. Thanks, Netflix.
