I just don't think it's right to make a movie about CIPA and portray it as this awesome to have disease that makes you invulnerable. You wouldn't have a movie scene, let alone an entire movie, made about an anorexic throwing up poisoned food so I really don't see how this is any different. It's just very ick, I suffer from intense chronic pain every day that wakes me up and I'd feel incredibly ignored if they made a movie about whatever is wrong with me and made it out to be anything but awful.
From the clips and trailers I've seen the movie takes realism out back and breaks its legs before throwing it in the ocean. I'm ashamed of my fellow man to be the only person to notice any of this.
The fact that nobody is pointing out they made a movie about a disease that is genuinely horrible to have, and makes it out to be this really cool thing, it's mindboggling. As somebody who doesn't suffer from CIPA but does suffer from chronic pain, what exactly is this movie trying to do other than entertain and minimize what CIPA is?
