What the hell have I started to watch?? Is Meghan trying to be one of those insta home style influencers? Completely tone deaf, standing around in luxe clothing, all her gold jewellery dangling over food. The intro just makes her sound egotistical, like the point of hosting is how it makes her feel ultimately and she needs that reassurance from others because she is so insecure in herself. The recipes and hosting ideas she provides are so lame. All this stuff exists already out there on the internet and in cook books. She’s hardly offering any inspiring or innovative. So when she says she has “secrets” or “tips” it feels like she has just spent time researching other people’s ideas and presenting them as her own. The entire thing is quite cringe. I have secondhand embarrassment for her. Disappointing Netflix is associated with this.

I couldn’t bring myself to finish the first episode. Casting Ambika Mod in this was a huge mistake. At least change the character’s name to be in line with a south asian woman. Her onscreen presence is unlikeable and the chemistry between the two appears forced. I’d rather pull out an eyelash one by one and continue watching her on screen. She is just awkward as hell, given a huge component of the plot is a love story, having to watch her act out love scenes is cringe. I understand that Emma was meant to be someone Dex would never have normally gravitated towards, but this interpretation is just bizarre.
