Sophie is a Mary sue and she’s so annoying!! It’s a rip off of Harry Potter. The only thing they try to do to keep it interesting is to give her more powers! It gets so repetitive too, like get more creative! Also the detail that all elves are like conventionally attractive (I think they added that detail somewhere in the first book? I remember reading it but not 100% sure) just BUGS ME like, pleaseee. The love triangle thing is just the WORST also maybe like a love square cuz of dex??? DEX IS HER ADOPTED COUSIN!! Like every book there’s a thing where love triangle moment and it sucks!! I saw some reviews mention that like everyone is white except for like 4 people, which is true!! We NEED more POC rep, coming from a SE Asian person. I don’t recommend this book. Read something else.
