Age of Wonders 3 is a better game if you like strategic wargames. AoW4 has well developed character and race options, but more limited option in gameplay, things like selecting auto combat to finish a battle after you started by manual(it seems a small thing, but creates tedious play having to manual your way through an entire battle). Or if you capture a city, fewer options on ways to handle it. Maps feel smaller with more limited real choices. Many pop up windows and questions that are distracting. AoW 3 is one of the best games ever, especially with all the mods, AoW4, not so much.
