In every one of M.C. Beaton's books, Hamish is described *several* times as having red hair. It's a recurring theme, his fiery red hair, "a tall lanky man with fiery red hair". So when, after reading *all* of the books, and the image of a tall red headed man firmly in my mind, I see the lead character with black hair, I can't watch any more because he is *not* Hamish Macbeth. For heaven's sake, you could have had him wear a wig, or dye his hair. Because of this, literally after watching only a couple of minutes of the episode, I turned it off. If the screen writer can't even be faithful to an important part of a book, what's the point? I couldn't have overlooked a smaller man, but not the hair. Hamish Macbeth has RED HAIR!!!
