The Lion King remake is visually stunning. It had the same impact on me as seeing Stars Wars in the 70’s and Toy Story in the 90’s...that this is a watershed moment that will redefine the future of moving making. Unfortunately, while it excelled visually it’s a flop vocally. Vocally it was like hearing a song everyone knows and loves being sung by someone else it there own way. Some dialog was original and some was new...either way not good or satisfying. I missed Scar’s Shakespearean style. I found Zazoo mostly annoying. Timon and Pumba boring. And the hyenas were the most disappointing of all...just plain dull. That said, still recommend seeing it because of the visuals. But, once was enough for me.
