This movie is the result of having no clear story arch or vision of where you want to take the Star Wars universe as a whole. Last Jedi ignored Force Awakens and this hot mess ignored LJ. No narrative to establish any changes just they happened for "reasons" and "it just did" They try and hide this lack of depth with a mountain pointless banter and smash cut close-ups of every side character reacting and giving a one-liner. Rise of the Skywalker is a hyperactive child with a surprise. The child will tell you they have a surprise and before you can react the shout out what it is. No tension or anticipation is built just payoff after payoff. Worst of all they just rip off whatever worked in a Marvel movie. Ragnarok had riders on horseback charging into battle cool we will do that. Falcon shows up at the last second with a host of CGI characters to save the day. Ok let's have Lando do that part and replace people with starships Save your money

Not good, while somehow being not bad. Like a lukewarm mix of tv.
