I want to start off by saying that I grew up watching the original Beetlejuice movie, making it one of my absolute childhood favorites. So after finding out a sequel was in the making, overjoyed me. The day the movie was released, we held a small watch party at our home which included my husband, 2 kids and 3 other friends. We were ready! Let me fast forward maybe 45 minutes into the show, I could tell us “older” people were “lost”. The plot was all over the place! And to be honest, a couple characters could’ve been left out of the script cuz served no purpose and only confused us more, like Beetlejuices wife and Lydia’s fiancé. By the time it reached the wedding scene with all the singing and dancing (which felt like a whole musical)I had had enough! Didn’t really care how it ended at that point. 2 of our guests got up to head home. We all decided the original movie was definitely better than this new movie they seem to have just thrown together.
