I gave it a shot only because it was free on Amazon prime. If I had paid a penny to watch, I'd sue to get my money back. I'm not a fan of any movie made in the past 10 years, but I think this one could possibly be the worst. So uninspired. I watched the movie with my son and about half way through we both sat wondering why we were still there, watching, wasting our time. Nothing about it came across as though anyone behind the camera knew what they were doing. Sure, they used all sorts of fancy camera angles, but why? I think it was just to show off what they figured out how to do, but none if it served the story. Connor, as most people have already noted, came across like a cartoon character. A little muscle bound caveman with a dumb smile on his face. None of the Gen Z cast could act at all. And I did not appreciate all of the DEI slipped in either. It made the movie even more stupid and unwatchable. The ONLY thing this movie has in common with the original is the name. And what was with that bar? That's not the kind of bar that was needed. It was the kind of place you might expect little foo foo boys to take their green haired birthing units for an evening of non-stimulating sitting around feeling non-judgmental about each other .
Go ahead and watch this if you're a Gen Z. You'll probably love it, but only because you're too young to know what good movies look like.
