Everyone is in agreement that it's not a great adaptation. if you're not familiar with its original work it is a beautiful movie with beautiful underlying messages. What happens when a parent prioritizes work over their family for example and how harsh of a reality that can be for a child. Touches lightly on the theme of bullying in school could have been better done but still an important topic. most importantly to the young people watching it it delivers very clear messages about the importance of negative self reflection letting that get you down and how we need to learn to love ourselves and have self confidence.
