Baldur's Gate 3 was a fantastic Single Player RPG you could play completely offline, only costs 60 USD instead of the 70 USD other games were starting to ask for, it had no micro-transactions, and was made with love by developers who really cared about the world they were designing their game in. It even gave you heaps of options in the character creator to customize your character, including allowing you to have the freedom to play a trans or non-binary character if you wanted to, as well as have romances with characters of any gender you like.
And then everyone cheered and loved the game, which BG3 rightfully deserved.
Now Dragon Age The Veilguard has come out, with ALL THESE SAME THINGS, and we get a mass review bombing of 1 Star reviews. Why?
It's a lot simpler than they are claiming. They liked the old Dragon Age games, and just wanted more of that again. They don't care that there's a lot of solid evidence by now that proves this game is really, really good and well worth your time, (Including the folks who made BG3 even praising this game themselves btw), because they are upset and feel hurt by a lot of games have disappointed them over the years.
Don't be angry at the 1 Star Reviewers. Feel sorry for them. They have been burned too many times in recent years, and now their hatred towards 'modern games' has blinded them to gems like this that are actually a wonderful game they are never going to experience because they made up their minds to hate this before it even came out, and will go on spewing their hate towards a game they never even played, because they want their frustrations to be heard when it feels like no one is listening.
I'm sorry they won't get to play this game. It might have eased that pain, if only just a little.
