Look, this movie is awful. I think most of us agree on that. That blame rests squarely with Disney and, to a lesser degree, Rian Johnson. The cast and crew, however, did their absolute best with what they were given and don't deserve any of the hate I've seen them receive.

This movie has a very large number of issues, but it's still immeasurably better than the sequel trilogy.

This movie is a beautiful satire of the Reagan administration. Ben Schwarz portrays Ronald Reagan (symbolized as a blue hedgehog) as an outsider who saved the world, landing emotional moments with dignity. Jim Carrey portrays Mikhail Gorbachev with nuance and passion. The comedic beats, such as the fall of the Berlin wall and unification of the East and West (represented by a small blue hedgehog going through his rings into another world) are among the most emotional beats ever seen in film. 10/10 movie.
