The sci-fi series started out promising. I note that many reviewers gave this show top marks. But I need sci-fi and its characters to be credible. If you want a light show to watch, itโs ok. But you have to overlook the writing.
โGeorgeโ - the main character - is not believable. He miraculously bumbles around Romania to acquire a nuclear device, evading everyone yet he has no skills as the newbie. The writers seem to be unconcerned with history or geography. George wants to drive his warhead to โRutheniaโ - a historic region that hasnโt been a country for centuries. The โborderโ to โRutheniaโ is marked with a sign that reads โFRONTIERE DE STADโ (supposedly โstate borderโ). Itโs literally a made up language. Itโs certainky not Romanian, Ruthenian, or any other local language.
George wants to start a world war. This will cause his secret agency to reset time to save his dead girlfriend. After arming a nuclear device, he drives away for what seems to be a few miles. This is enough to keep him safe from a nuclear explosion. He then hops on a private flight (the only one going) from
Bucharest to London with a drugged out rock band. None of it has a whiff of believability. George is like the opposite of James Bond, utterly clueless. Yet, he achieves the impossible anyway.
Itโs ok to watch as long as you donโt think too much.
