Frankenstein (2025) A brilliant but egotistical scientist brings a monstrous creature to life in a daring experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.
Dark, dreary, out right beautiful. Guillermo Del Toro, perhaps one of the greatest Directors in film History gives us this hauntingly beautiful revision of one of the most popular horror films/story to date. Frankenstein. This film is why I love gothic horror films so much. It's not afraid to get deep, it's not afraid to tug at your heartstrings. This is a remarkable story with a cast that pours their heart into their respective roles. It's nice to see Mia Goth sticking with the horror genre. This movie definitely gives off some incredibly horrific vibes that brings chills with each eerie scene. The scenery in this film is stunning. It has some beyond gorgeous visuals. This whole movie had me strapped to my seat. I'm really glad I was able to watch this one alone as this movie had me in tears. I don't mean I cried, I mean I was full on sobbing. Not just to one scene alone. This whole movie had me full of emotions. This Frankenstein is so heartfelt and so dark and so full of so many things that I am so grateful Guillermo Del Toro was the man to create this masterpiece. You can tell his heart was in this. From the cast, to the story, to the visuals to even the score. It was all the most beautiful work of art I perhaps have ever seen. This has made it onto my favorite movies of all time perhaps. Upon further viewings of this film will confirm those feelings but I am forever grateful that this was made. There are many reasons why I hype this movie the way I do. I related to the creature on such a personal, deep level that it really hit me in my feelings. Anyway, Frankenstein is a masterpiece. One of the most wonderful Gothic Horror pieces to exist. 5/5 stars is a deserving score for this one. Hauntingly, dreadfully beautiful!
