Long story short: Unrealistic plot, terrible script, don't even get me started on the acting
(Spoiler alert)
Here's my issues with this series:
1) The characters were cliche and had pretty unrealistic 'talents'. How convenient that one of them can hack into every system, the other knows every history in the books- even more so than the so-called seasoned 'treasure-hunters'. One of them who is stupid enough to get kidnapped because of shoes is smart enough to keep rolls of cash and have burner phones for 'emergencies'. The young group then easily solves mysteries that have been unsolved for centuries? Yeah right.
2) The little romance that was in there was absolute cringe. If the partners of the main characters felt insecure after one dance, then good God, they sure are toxic and shouldn't even be in a relationship.
3) The clues to the treasure absolutely drops on you without any context or relation to history.
4) What also annoyed me were the terrible eye contacts on the plane when Jess and dad were kidnapped. Her pretending to 'pretend to be subtle' when her kidnappers were watching her- God help me.
5) The constant reminders of the political agendas, that Jess is undocumented, how the treasure hunt is a means to avenge their loved ones
I stuck till the end hoping it will get better even a tiny bit.. Heres, 7.5 hours of my life I will never get back.
