Naayagan Meendum Vara Ettu Thikkum Payam Thaane I couldn't take my eyes off the screen for the entirety of the movie, after so many lacklustre movies like Beast and outright disasters like Valimai, Don was a decent relief (yet to watch, but great reviews), but Vikram is a showstopper and a jaw-dropper. What a masterpiece by Lokesh after a decent affair in Master. From the very get-go, there are small connections with Kaithi, but as the movie runs on, it runs so smoothly with the universe of Kaithi, leaving aside a few hiccups seeing VJS back in Vikram after master and I'm still clueless how Arjun Das is alive, but I hope this is justified. VJS was menacing, much better than Master, this is one of his best performances as a villain, and when the mom pops the pill, he's a force stronger than anyone except the eagle. Fahadh Fasil stole the first half, and really stomped his foot in Kollywood with her performance. The biggest issue people had with this movie prior to release is how all three would be handled, but they all were given ample amount of time to shine and show their mettle, which is what actors like Nelson dropped the ball on in Beast and other big movies as well. Lokesh is in his own zone right now and is in leagues with PA Ranjith when it comes to Maverick Film makers. I love how all of Lokesh's films have a criminal background and drugs, and he never justifies the usage of them, he shows the emotional trauma behind the usage, but never outgoingly says this is the life you should be going after, which is commendable. Lokesh has proven himself yet again, and I can't be happier. What an experience in the theatres. Finally, Kamal, you stole any thunder Rajini had and absolutely destroyed the movies he's given in the past 10 years. What a comeback after 4 years, and what maturity you pulled the role with, and the bravery to play a hero as a 60-year-old. Wow Kamal, absolutely awestruck. Suriya with his cameo was on point, and the showdown between the 3 protagonists and Suriya will be ultimate. I'm not a guy that purely likes movies for mass, and as mass as this movie is, the storyline, the making and the screenplay make this s a sure-shot blockbuster and a benchmark film in the Tamil industry. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T MISS IT, my first Tamil film in theatres in Canada in 8 years, and the theatre was packed on day 6 with a full audience, the mania for Vikram is crazy and make sure you don't miss out on the one of a kind experience. Finally, the action scenes were so fresh, the way it was choreographed, the tall actors performed amazingly in this movie, and the whole cinematography was amazing to watch like visual poetry. The way the action scenes were shot, were legitimately at Hollywood level in portions and there are scenes in the movie which will catch you so of the guard, some so wack and some so thrilling and shocking. I have no words to say for this movie, Lokesh Masterclass, and Vijay pulled it off gracefully. I don't need to review this, best Vijay movie I've seen. I'm excited for the next Vijay + Loki Combo. Master: A Strong Villain can make a movie Stand

My rating for this movie 2/5 The bgm was fine, and one of the only redeeming parts of the movie. Everything was extremely cringed, other than the energy Rajini possessed in the story. It was a washed-up and utter flop narrative, and it was akin to an Indian Soap Opera, a.k.a TV serials. It's time Rajini chooses better scripts or takes supporting roles. His prior movies were passable, even Darbar, but this was just a major letdown. Not even one time watchable, the only thing I liked was Rajini's effort and energy at the age of 70. Huge letdown, but hey the producers and Rajini made bank. The man went from Bus Conductor to Superstar, to raking 250 crores at the box office to below-average B grade movies. OH, I also got to see Kingsley for 3 minutes, so YAY!!!

As a die-hard Suriya fan, this movie was a complete letdown. Apart from the last 20 minutes and action set pieces, and Suriya's performances, this movie had the impact of a Sun Serial TV show. The message at hand and the acting of Priyanka were great in portions, but the needless mix of comedy and cringe family elements wastes Suriya's potential to give a hat-trick. Jai Bhim and Soorarai Pottru were both extremely commendable and top-tier performances from Suriya, this movie is a complete letdown. However, good effort to choose the right side in the women's harassment debate, and be responsible for the handling of the emotional scenes regarding this kind of harassment. Vinay is a complete miscast to this movie. Etharkum Thunindhavan: Message is missed in a Sun TV serial

Complete disappointment. Ajith delivered a few melodramatic movies that did so-so recently. The last time we saw peak Ajith, was in Yennai Arindhal. This movie might've gotten a 3 from me if it was just 1st half, but 2nd half completely spoiled my mood and my time. What an awful way to end this movie, and how do you make an action-packed movie like this, into a melodramatic kichadi. Awful, I know you can do better Ajith. The set-pieces in this movie are pleasing to watch, but the story is weak, and Ajith's characterization is an utter flop. Do better H.Vinoth. Valimai: Heads Roast

I am being honest when I came into this movie with zero expectations. I was not a fan at all of bahubali, nor am I a fan of Telugu movies (aside from the artistic Nani Movies). However, I have to purely admit, after getting accustomed to the environment of this movie, it's a movie that should be commended. As fictional as the setup is, the harsh reality is still how the British had thought of India back then, and how it is depicted in here, is completely true. The movie really digs deep into this emotional aspect, which keeps you invested in this whole movie's proceedings and has you cheering on the two protagonists. I am a bit upset that the females were underutilized in this movie, and that was one of the plus points in Bahubali, strong casted female characters. I am forgiving of this, however, as these female characters aren't there for pure glamour. This movie flew by, despite being 3 hours. Expecting this to be a 2/5 movie propagating to the current politics, it has far exceeded my expectations and reached a 5/5. The best film by Rajamouli IMO, Magnum Opus that's a huge success. hats off to Ram Charan for this tough role, NTR was fine as well. RRR: A Magnus Opus, that wasn't done dirty

Beast: A disaster that will receive cult-classic symbol for bad movies with a quirky environment. Why am I giving three stars, cause this movie is enjoyable in its set pieces, as illogical as those scenes are, they are still goosebumps moments for pure action seekers, keeping aside Vijay's presence, this movie had amazing cinematography and thought into the mall setting. Vijay-wise, and the production-wise this movie is outstanding. Where it falters is Nelson's lack of handling of this movie's progression and innovating from this already beat to death storyline. He was able to do that in CoCo and Doctor, and he completely misses the mark here with his signature touch. Though this movie as a whole is a colossal mess, the set pieces, the songs, the cinematography, the quirkiness, allow for this problematic movie to get a passing grade from me. So much work to do for Vijay and Nelson in potential future projects. I'm not going to defend this film, it was bad, but it had some things working for it. in 10 years, this movie will give ton of memes and will be rewatched and see as something that was misjudged. Certainly better than Valimai

Mega comeback for Vikram, and a change of scenery for Dhruv, this movie had so much promise, and it delivered. In 1st half, I would've gone with a 2.5 or 3, but after that power-packed second half, and the graceful scenes between both son and father, I have to give it a 4. The acting of Vikram is outstanding, a tailor-made role, from being vulnerable to becoming swag, the rags to riches story was well displayed. Dhruv provided a change of tone for Police officers, and this time his actions were called out when he killed criminals, unlike the majority of Tamil movies where a police office killing criminals ruthlessly is praised. I hated Jagame Thandiram, but this movie was lovely. However, there were certain scenes that were prolonged in the first half, had that been trimmed, this might've been the most entertaining package Vikram has provided us. Nonetheless, a solid movie, and a huge comeback for Vikram, and Karthik Subbaraj as a director as well. Another point docked for giving Simran a horrible wig in the second half. But, Hats off. One Line of Maahan: a quirky, but fleshed out Revenge-Gangster Saga 4/5

This movie was quite solid. Extremely enjoyable for me, and one I want my parents to watch as well now. Sivakarthikeyan had a dark tone in this movie, and a very reserved one, and one I really enjoyed. I'm really used to SK being a jovial character, and one who can't be taken seriously, that perception was changed here. He had consistently taken up village dramas, this movie really impressed me for being outside the box. The actress could've been given a better role, and that is one of the reasons I'm reducing half a star, and the other being 2 scenes that seemed rather illogical to a much more grounder and enjoyable movie. The ending scene had a lot of loopholes and the scene where SK was able to grab the bar on the train, in a manner defying what a normal human possesses in strength. Yogi Babu and Kingsley made the movie really enjoyable, and there were so many quirky characters making the movie thoroughly enjoyable. The music was great Solid work, Nelson! Doctor, a visual and humorous dark comedy! 4/5
