Well what can I say? The great Leslie Benzies is the mind behind Mindseye and at first glance the world pulls you in even if it’s a little empty. The gunplay is fun but is it out of this world? No, but that hasn’t stopped me from having fun. I’ve seen the problems many have addressed but I can’t honestly say I haven’t come across anything that major that’s made me want a refund. I have had two crashes, one at the beginning and one towards the end and the only glitch I had was again at the beginning where a robot was gliding along looking scared of something. But the story is what makes this game stand out. You play as Jacob Diaz a former soldier with a neural implant known as the Mindseye. Naturally you come to Redrock searching for answers behind the reason you have been suffering with memory loss. You come across a few interesting characters that like I said make the story one of the strongest parts of the game. Could the AI perform a lot better? Certainly at the beginning of the game the AI seemed a bit hit and miss but when missions started coming quick they seemed to have sorted themselves out apart from the odd one who would walk off on his own (going where know one knows) but that doesn’t cause a lot of concern that makes you scream at the problems that certainly lie within the game for players. For me the few things I’d love to see is more interaction with the world give us more freedom. A map would be nice as well but make the world more alive. As the setting is what drew me in. The driving is nice as well but again I’d like the chance to drive any car not just the standard car or even sky car (that’s the flying machines within the game) that you get given for each mission involving driving or flying but it didn’t really bother me but I know it has others. Anyway this was never going to be the GTA killer like many articles planted out there said. This is more the same lines of Watchdogs as I have said interesting worlds but they feel so empty these days. I know Mindseye was sold as linear experience but there’s the free roam that opens up after a mission towards the ending of the game. So add more stuff to do within that beautiful world they have designed and this game could be good within a matter of updates. It shouldn’t have ever been released as a mess that many are having trouble with but again many games have (looking at you Cyberpunk). Give all the places of interest something to do within. The train station, airport, hotels, housing complex’s, give us some shops. There’s so much that can be done within the game. The story side of the game is amazing and gets you hooked and it’s a reason why my score is relatively high compared to others.
