Smile 2’s attempt to take the plot and storyline of chapter 1 and link it with chapter 2 was an ultimate failure.
Putting this aside, the long awaited sequel did have a decent story going for it, before it was ruined with an ending that made no sense or logic, which turned out to be the most disappointing part of the movie. It’s as if the filmmakers suffered from writers blocks not knowing how to end the film properly and were forced to choose an impulsive tasteless ending due to being on a time crunch to finish the film.
Being such a big fan of the first movie and waiting two years for this to come out, I found myself walking out of the premier on opening night shaking my head in frustration and dissatisfaction. The only thing enjoyable to this film was the suspenseful and creative audio tones.
