Here's an honest review of +50 hours of playing AND finishing the game. Companions/MC: 8/10 Genuinely enjoyed getting to know and work alongside with the companions; their loyalty quests were reminiscent to that of ME2 and that they played a major part with the entire team's survivability in the end. The personalities and depth that they had with one another was also reminiscent to DA:2. My favorite [platonic] companions would have to be Bellara and Davrin! Romances: 8.5/10 Some complain as to how "tame" the romances can be, but I think the build-up for the relationships was well-paced and quite fitting for the respective characters! It was also sweet, seeing some of the other companions dating each other or other NPC characters. Combat: 9/10 The combat was incredibly smooth, as well as movement, and it was refreshing to play as a mage with heavy-hitting attacks with a staff, or fast strikes with a mage-knife/orb. Although it's not as tactical as DA: Origins, there is a combat ability-wheel like in ME:2/ME:3 and suggested combos made it awesome and easier to deal damage! Story-telling: 8.5/10 The beginning felt a little too rushed and had quite a few introductions, but as time passed (maybe about a 2-3 quests after the prologue) the pace had evened out and the quest-line was very intriguing and I was pulled in to keep playing because I wanted answers and enjoyed the lore. (I finished the game two and a half days after it came out and over +15 hours each day of playing) Overall? 4.5/5 I would highly recommend this game and I've been a longtime fan. (I've played all of the ME: Trilogy and Dragon Age.) [This was a very compacted review, but I could go into more detail about why this game was so much fun and although I had hesitations, I'm glad I gave it a chance.]

So-this is my first RPG that I've ever played that has D&D rules/mechanics/etc. but not my first ever RPG. (I've heavily played Mass Effect/Skyrim/Dragon Age/etc.) However, I'm not one to really give too much criticism/praise about the mechanics since I've never had the chance to play D&D first-hand. To start off-I deeply appreciate the inclusivity for character creation as well as the freedom to choose if wanting to play as a customizable character or playing as one of the main companions. A lot more freedom compared to other RPG's that I've played, so definitely appreciate that! The voice acting and the characters are very likeable or to the point where I want to learn/interact with them more. For example: I love interacting and learning about Shadowheart's & Astarion's personalities/backgrounds, and wanting my character to develop more with them. But-I am intrigued and fascinated by Gale-albeit he's a much more tolerable version of Anders (Dragon Age 2) to me, albeit I find myself not really going out of my way to talk too in-depth with him sort of because of that reminder. I'm not one to ask in regards to this, but I'm normally not one to play such an open-world game where there's more than like, six different endings. There are hundreds of endings to this game that involve the main storyline as well as not-that is something that's quite overwhelming to me, so I try not to focus too hard on it lest I overwhelm myself in like, an hour gaming session. I can't say too much in regards to later on within the game, since I recently started myself and still venturing within Act 1 of the game; but, here's the takeaway-I absolutely enjoy this game, even if it does become a bit overwhelming at times for me.

This game was a delight for me to play-especially since I played the original version when I was younger. I've read both the highs and the lows that people have mentioned with this remaster-everyone has a right to say how they feel because it's their thoughts and their experience. So, this time I'll say mine. Personally, this game was a lot more immersive for me with the atmosphere, the surroundings, and the characters. Albeit not as sassy as the original, I love the approach of Leon's personality in the remaster still-I separate the two as their own entities, which is why I love both of them. However, I personally felt like many of the other characters were given much more depth. For example-Ashley. I couldn't stand playing the original with how whiny and helpless she seemed/appeared throughout the game, especially with the sound of her voice. The remastered version of Ashley? She felt much more mature/acting like her age, as well as scenes and moments where she would fight back a little bit or even help out in some sort of way. Another example, is Luis. Now, in the original with the few moments we had with him, he was really funny and I liked his character. But, that's it. A few moments with him and then he's dead-nothing too crazy afterwards. However, in the remaster? We get to have a whole chapter with him, especially in one of my favorite areas with him! I felt like I had more time to get to know him and appreciate him-I also like his design way more than the original! So, this time around when he passed, I felt way more emotional and had to stop playing for a little bit! This game was such a binge play for me-I finished it a couple of days after it had released and I loved it so much. It was worth it to me, even if I didn't buy the deluxe version of it! It was all still worth it to me and I love playing it, even after having already finished it.

This game was released a little over a week ago for the Xbox, but I just started playing a couple of days ago. (I did not purchase the game since I have Gamepass, but I'm planning on purchasing it because I really enjoy this game). We'll start off with the pros: - HELLA customization; can change the skins of any weapon, accessories and skins for all characters, and the features (eyes, mouth, hair, blemishes, etc.) of the characters! Way more than I've ever seen (And I played Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Destiny, and Skyrim!) - There are plenty of rewards; yes, like all Battle Royale (BR's), there is a battle-pass and then a battle-pass you can purchase (just like Fortnite, Apex, etc.) There is still PLENTY that you can earn if you do not want to purchase the battle-pass, and you can earn in-game currency from all of the weapons that you use too! There's more than one way to earn in-game customization than purchasing with your own money. - In gameplay, you don't have to worry about fall damage or stamina usage like some games (looking at you, Fortnite) and you can climb walls, trees, mountains... basically, everything! You can even collect grappling hooks to make things easier, including in combat (if you want to stun them, or they are using ranged attacks). Onto the negatives (these are personal): - The English VA is exaggerated to the point of being cringey for me. Literally, after the tutorial, I checked to see if I could change the spoken language and immediately switched it over to Korean. (The options are English, Japanese, and Korean.) It doesn't change the language of the subtitles when you change the spoken language, so I'm ok with that. So, this was an easy fix on my end. - This could be an issue with my internet, or the servers that I play on (I'm usually joining my boyfriend's party) since this sort of happens with a few other online games that I play with him and our friends, but I've had some really bad lag spikes. They mainly happen during mid-combat, which is a major yikes, since I play as a support character while playing with my group. So, I'm not 100% sure if it's because of my internet, the servers, or if it's an issue with the game itself. Those are my pros/cons when it comes to this game. It's enjoyable and I definitely feel like the $20.00 to play this game will be worth it once I make the purchase, so I'm grinding up on my battle-pass in the meantime. :D Thanks for reading! - This message is supported by a console Kurumi-main! <3
