Finally been to theatre to watch Metro In Dino.
I was kind of a little bit unsatisfied with the movie.
I was expecting something much more from the movie, due to the earlier part, but it gave only clichรฉs & nothing else.
I get it that I shouldn't compare it with the older movie, Life In A Metro, cause both are different, but I just can't help doing it.
Yes, of course the movie was good, in bits & pieces, but it lacked a hell lot in various ways.
Yes, of course all the story narrated was beautifully woven but the impact was lost somewhere in execution.
The movie was full of clichรฉ twists & turns which made it too stereotypical. Like the need to reinvent urself or ur relationship doesn't require u to have an affair & also u don't need an opposite gender to make u reinvent u.
Even though the movie was a bit too long, it felt that the stories were wrapped up haphazardly, without giving closure to issues amongst the characters.
Frequent appearances of the singing band, looked quite misplaced & forced, in spite of it being similar in both new & old movie. Here in this movie it didn't gel with the ongoing scene.
Having said that, still, all the stories were quite heartwarming & I quite liked the acting of each actor.
Special mention to Konkona Sen & great Pankaj Tripathi for bringing the fun part in the movie and looking so damn beautiful in each scene.
I liked Adiya Roy Kapoor after many yrs, in this movie.
People trolled Sara Ali Khan for this movie but I liked her depiction of a confused modern girl. Somehow she fitted the role and thankfully she didn't do any overacting in this๐
The story of Fatima Sana Shaikh & Ali Fazal was good but somehow it lacked in delivering its full impact. Maybe because of it being over emotional storyline or too clichรฉ happeneongs in it. Acting of both were good but the story got jumbeled up in its own weave.
My heart was at the story of Neena Gupta & Anupam Kher. Not only due to it having an older love lost story but due to the depiction of Neena Gupta's character & her meed to be free from her shackels of responsibilities. Well etched role and played well too by both the artist.
I also liked those musical dialogues cum songs, in between the story, to depict the situations & take the story forward.
Overall, even though it wasn't what I expected it to be, still, it was a good watch, in recent times.
My suggestion, if you haven't seen the movie "Metro In Dino" as yet, then you may wait for it to come on OTT to watch.
You arent missing much of a theatre watching experience for this movie.
Thanks.
