After reading the book the movie was such a let down. Very disappointing. They skip and miss SOOOO MUCH. SO MUCH, that makes it thrilling. Like when the air lock pops, he just walks back. And the hab is still there just fine.. no, he was supposed to have to roll it back and the hab should have been deflated. That's not what happened. His rigging the rover by taking apart ARES 3 MAV. I don't remember seeing him fry the communication sat. In the book, the river does not have any trailers. He did not have any hard time bringing the satellite back to the hab. His drive to the MAV was clear and fine..skip the dust storm, skip the wreck. The movie just isn't thrilling. And the main character is absolutely NOTHING like the book. In the book he's a corny nerd. Should have been played by simon helberg or johnny galecki. The whole thing was so disappointeing. I'd be so mad if I wrote the book and this is how they portrayed it.
