This piece of work deserves all the accolades it deserves. "Gravel Heart" is written by one of the best African novelist Abdulrazak Gurnah and I am not giving this book the flower it deserves because it is written by an amazing novelist but because the formand literariness of the this text is one of its kind, not forgetting how each and every character can be criticized based on the way they choose to live their individual lives not considering their family backgrounds which is a way of devoiding his/herself from the status quo.
