One of the best games I’ve played in a long while! The combat is amazing. A total breath of fresh air compared to Elden Ring or some of my other favorite games. It’s very fast, lots of depth with quick reflexes being imperative for success, yet extremely simple and easy to get the hang of! It feels like a SoulsBorne without the clunk. And yeah the clunk is there purposely in those games, but it is purposely not in Stellar Blade and really makes things feel new and fresh! Exploration is equally fun and fresh, taking open worlds and putting in some platforming or some Tomb Raider esque climbing and swimming and what not. I will say I especially like the dialogue. It is pretty cheesy and the characters feel like you’re straight up watching an anime. It isn’t “good” in the conventional way, just feels good lol. And that’s just so good it’s worth mentioning. There’s no profanity heavy dialogue , no edgy hip character talking using last year’s “cool” lingo, no wacky contemporary political propaganda. Just some good cheesy dialogue delivered in an oddly soothing way. The story is very fun as well. It’s predictable, yet enjoyable. All in all this game is like a soothing ointment on the burn that modern media has left on me. It’s just good, complete, fun, challenging, and entertaining. Oh yeah, the costumes are fun! I wouldn’t buy the game just for the dess up stuff though, most of the time you’re so focused on exploration and combat that you forget to even look at Eve lol, but the costumes are a fun touch to take you out of the seriousness of the post apocalyptic world swarming with monsters.

It's the best game ever made. I was a huge fan of the first to game and quite literally didn't expect this game to be as good as it is. The combat is chaotic and fruitful, each slash of the sword or block with the shield feal impactful and important, and whenever a huge spell is cast man the connection of it is intense! also, having your character thrown across the battlefield like a ragdoll is oddly satisfying lol. you get lost in the game completely, right out of the gates

It's good, but not great. People come to Fromsoft for a challenge, and frankly the challenge was lacking. I'm a fan of the SoulesBourne games and really enjoy the lore, but this game feels very empty. The lore is great and all, just very sparse and sometimes able to be missed completely. this is a bit underwhelming considering how Fromsoft really takes a backseat when it comes to storytelling and presentation. All in all, its fun for what it is. just dodge into the attacks and you'll quickly become a vicious beast and total legend in the eyes of the "hardcore gamer" lol. It's kinda funny, this game attempts to do what monster hunter world does, and comes short in all respects.

This game is amazing! I was a bit skeptical about it, I'm a Final Fantasy fan but I haven't really gotten into the games since X, but I saw good reviews and figured what the heck let's give it a go. I was outright surprised by how good the story is, it's amazing. And Cid's voice actor is worth playing too hear, I was pleasantly surprised to hear him show up lol. I haven't played many games with this engaging of a story and acting, maybe the RE2 remake. I kinda figured this year would peak with Diablo IV but this game is pretty amazing. The combat is intense and engaging as well. And that's coming from a guy who basically walks through the SoulesBourne games like it's a stroll through the park. It's very fast paced and has lots of openings for perfection, like perfect dodges and perfectly timed attacks and what not. More along the lines of Bloodbourne I guess, but with super moves and stuff like Devil May Cry.

I'm in love with this game! I'm surprised how accurately they portrayed a child in the beginning of the game, very perfectly portraying innocence and mischievousness while showing the rebellious nature of a child. From there the game only gets better! Combat is sleek and difficult, requiring strategy. It's very involved, and immersive. It's fun to see the apocalypse in a way that is alive rather than smoke and ash. Showing the tribal side of humanity, a phase all ethnicities lived through from the picts and the cimarians, to the romans, to the current day Sammie's and african tribes, helps build a world familiar and ancient, but lost in our future. A believable wheel of life. Ultimately, this game delivers on great characters, interesting lore, and challenging combat!

I really wanted to like this game, but it's shortcomings come very, very short. To put it briefly, when stood up next to other super hero games like The Amazing Spiderman and the Batman: Arkham trilogy, it pales in comparison. It's not to say it doesn't have redeeming qualities, there's just not enough. The good: The combat is ok, but certainly lacks that feeling of "controlled chaos" that you get with other super hero games, but it's still pretty fun. The detective parts of the game are pretty cool, I liked doing the little puzzles and solving the riddles. The Bad: We'll, everything other than what's good feels half baked, unpolished, and boring. The world feels vacant. It seems like the city has been evacuated. Except in the other Batman games the city actually is evacuated and it still feels very alive, this just feels empty. Traversing the city is mind numbing. Maybe if you never played the other Batman or Spiderman games you won't be as critical, but you basically just creep along with very janky animations. It's slow, you feel slow, and that's about it. At times you just feel like someone cosplaying, jogging to the convention because their late. Considering how big the city is and how much travel is involved, this kills the game. The bat bike is kinda cool, but suffers from being terribly slow, and kind of comical. You get these effects like your roaring down the road except you can tell that you might be hitting like 30mph. It made me laugh out loud a few times. The final nail in the coffin is, well, the game it's self. They try hard to make it modern and contemporary, and that sucks. To symbolize youth a character might have a beenie on and use some very, very out of character language, i.e. an EMT calling a patient "this dude" and Nightwing calling Batgirl "Barbera Freaking Gordon". I get it, the cool kids say "Dude" and "freaking" and wear beanies. Now. in the year 2023. Look, I'll use one and see how well it lands. The dialogue is "cringe". To everyone who isn't addicted to Tik Tok that sounds stupid right? Well hearing adult super heroes talk like Tik Tok influencers sounds stupid too. It doesn't stop there though, they obviously pulled all of their resources away from the gameplay and set it to making terrible dialogue and character designs, all using models from Instagram hahaha. Final thoughts, if you want a super hero game, pick up the Arkham series and/or the Spiderman series. It's unmeasurabley funner and It'll probably even cost less.
